2018 allowed lost-time claims by leading occupations
Ontario’s workforce is diverse and made up of over 155 occupations. Secondary and elementary school teachers and counsellors, as well as police officers and firefighters, have been the two occupations with the highest number of allowed lost-time claims over the past 10 years for Schedule 2.
People between the ages of 50 and 54 years were the age group with the most claims for four of the seven leading occupations in 2018. The occupation with the most claims for women was secondary and elementary school teachers and counsellors, where it was police officers and firefighters for men. In all cases, the most common injury was sprains and strains.
