Allowed traumatic fatalities by year of death

Every year there are Ontarians who die of a work-related traumatic injury. In 2018, two people working in Schedule 2 lost their lives due to a traumatic workplace fatality.

Over the past 10 years, 85 per cent of traumatic fatality claims were men mostly between the ages of 50 to 54 years.

 

Over the 10 year period from 2009 to 2018, the following groups had the highest traumatic fatality percentages:

  • Age groups: 50 to 54 (20%), 30 to 34 (15%), 40 to 44 (15%)
  • Gender: Men (85%)
