2018 allowed lost-time claims by leading injury event

For the past eight years, fall on same level has been the leading injury event for Schedule 2. Before 2014, overexertion was the most common injury. In 2018, fall on same level made up 17 per cent of allowed lost-time claims, which has stayed the same for the past two years. The second leading injury event was assaults and violent acts, which made up 15 per cent in 2018.

In 2018, women in Schedule 2 occupations had the highest percentage of lost-time claims for three of the five leading injury events -- fall on same level, assaults, and struck against objects or equipment. People 50 to 54 years old had the highest number of lost-time claims in all five injury categories.
