To calculate the lost-time injury rate, we look at the number of allowed lost-time claims and the total number of workers employed to show the number of lost-time claims per 100 workers.

Since 2007, the lost-time and no lost-time injury rates have both declined by about 26 per cent, while the number of workers covered by the WSIB has increased by about 16 per cent.

Comparing 2016 to 2015, allowed lost-time claims have increased and no lost-time claims have decreased. Similarly, the lost-time injury rate increased by 9 per cent and the no lost-time injury rate decreased by 2 per cent.
