2018 allowed lost-time claims by leading injury source

Over the past 10 years, injuries involving people (bodily motion or condition) and structures (including walkways, floors, and buildings) have been the most common type of allowed lost-time claims. In 2018, these two types of injuries made up for 25 per cent and 22 per cent of lost-time claims.

Women and health care sector workers had the highest percentage of lost-time claims in the category of injuries involving people in 2018. Three of the five leading injury sources were highest among those aged 20 to 24 years, in various occupations.
